International Conference on Game Jams, Hackathons and Game Creation Events August 30, 2023 (virtual)

Dear game jam researchers community,

When we were planning ICGJ22 one of our aims was to increase the participation from the scholars from the Ukrainian universities. We thought about a series of satellite events such as workshops on game jam research or international team building events.

All our plans which were made in November 2021 had been invalidated by the Russian invasion into Ukraine on Feb 24th 2022. At first we rescheduled the conference from August 2022 to December 2022 in the hope that the hostilities would wind down and the Ukrainian scholars would be able to return to their normal activities. But as for now it is the 188th day of war and Russia keeps attacking and holding troops in Ukraine we have made a decision to reschedule the conference to August 30th 2023

As a further step to support Ukraine we are going to organize it as an online event hosted in Robert Elvorti Economics and Technology Institute, Kropyvnytskyi, Ukraine.

The corresponding deadlines are:

• Submission deadline Tuesday, May 9th 2023 Extended: Tuesday, May 23rd 2023 (AOE)

• Decision notification Monday, July 10th 2023

• Camera ready Monday, August 7th, 2023

• Game Festival Entry Friday, August 25, 2023

• Registration Deadline         Friday, August 25, 2023

• ICGJ'23 Wednesday, August 30th 2023
